As of November 2023, Globe has 54.7 million subscribers, making it the second-largest telecom network in the country. Globe focuses on improving connectivity and expanding digital services across the Philippines.

On December 8, 1928, the Philippine Legislature granted the Robert Dollar Company a franchise for wireless long-distance services. This was done through Act No. 3495. On November 28, 1934, Act No. 4150 transferred the franchise to Globe Wireless Limited. Globe Wireless Limited was incorporated in the Philippines on January 15, 1935.

In Q3 2016, Globe Telecom became the largest telecom provider in the Philippines with 65.8 million subscribers, surpassing Smart Communications by 200,000 subscribers.

However, due to the SIM Registration Act, Globe’s subscribers dropped to 48.4 million by July 2023, as unregistered SIM cards were deactivated. At this point, Smart led with 50 million subscribers.

After a 5-day grace period, Globe’s numbers rose to 53.7 million, briefly reclaiming the top spot. Despite losing 33 million SIM cards to deactivation, Globe remained a major player in the market.

As of November 2023, Globe has 54.7 million subscribers, ranking second in the Philippines.
